quote-the-ego-is-not-only-the-unobserved-mind-the-voice-in-the-head-which-pretends-to-be-you-eckhart-tolle-58-94-00There are many relatable definitions to describe the mind, which has multiple features.  Here the term mind (or egoic-mind) is used to describe that uniquely human part of thinking that is responsible for maintaining the ego and processing the compulsive thoughts that keep the ego sustained.

The term here does not include the complete human feature that is higher thinking, but merely a portion of so called higher thinking that progresses the reactive thought patterns which are, often times, to our short term gain and longer term detriment.

As far as humans believe that they ‘are’ the sum of their thoughts, these are people who identify with their egoic minds.

Instead of using the higher level of thinking to actually think, they are merely listening to old recordings of problems to nurture the ego instead of nurturing the actual human.  This is insanity, however, it is so popular that it is considered normal.

“The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not the thinker.

The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated

You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm intelligence beyond thought… you begin to awaken.”- Eckhardt Tolle
